Cute Vintage Card...

POSTING & Creation by Jennifer Cuthbertson

Today I'm excited to show you a fun card with a vintage feel that I made using Stampin' D'Amour's Vintage Children stamp set! I just adore the mid-century feeling of the October Afternoon papers and the 5&Dime collection does not disappoint!

I paired the papers with a button and that great flash card from that collection with a tag I cut and stamped. I love how the little button coordinated so well with the coral card stock!

Thanks for visiting!

Thanks-a-million!!!!

Hi everyone, I have a card today featuring this sentiment from "Stampin' D'Amour", this is one of their red rubber stamp images. For the layout of my card I used the sketch challenge #114 from Card Patterns. The floral patterned paper is from one the the new lines from K & Co., it's called "Julianne", accented the design of the card with red cardstock. The red scalloped edge I made with a Martha Stewart border punch and glued behind the patterned paper to just show the little scallop edge.

For the strip of vellum I used an embossing border folder from the "Organic" set, the butterflies I diecut and embossed with the "Combo Butterflies" set from Cuttlebug. The red cardstock was embossed with the "Victoria" folder, I added a couple of glitter brads and some Stickles to the edge of the patterned paper, the vellum and the vellum butterfly for some sparkle.

Thank you so much for stopping by, hope you enjoyed my project, come back soon and have a great Friday.

Supplies:
Size: 5" x 6 1/2"
Stamps: Stampin' D'Amour (Thanks a million!!!)
Inks: Versafine (Onyx Black), Distress Ink (weathered wood)
Paper: Bazzill Cardstock, K & Co. (Julianne), Basic Grey, vellum
Other: Cuttlebug embossing folder (Victoria), Cuttlebug embossing border (Organic), Cuttlebug die and embossing folder (Combo Butterflies), Stickles (Baby Blue), SEI glitter brads, Martha Stewart border punch (Lattice), pop dots

Booth 96 & Scary Mannequins...

Yesterday, I couldn't resist visiting a few antique shops...there's one in Scottsdale that seems more like a museum than an antique shop.

It has a lot of taxidermy animals, mannequins, and interesting collectible artifacts or "higher-end antiques"...just bizarre things.

Look at these wax heads from the Madame Tussaud's wax
museum of the Last Supper...very lifelike.

These figures were in the back of the store behind a bunch of picture frames...not something you'd normally see in an antique shop.

I have to admit that as much as I love wax museums, that I was a little creeped out by this display...yes, I know it's based off of Da Vinci's Last Supper, but....

Wouldn't you feel a tad scared being in this antique store all alone at night?

Here's a booth with antique telephones...not scary like the mannequins and various animal heads that adorn the shop. I think it's neat how much technology has evolved.

These telephones look like they have faces, don't ya think?

Here's a current photo of my booth..."Booth 96" at the Brass Armadillo in Phoenix.

The Brass Armadillo is one of the largest antique malls in the Phoenix area. I think it's about 40,000 sq ft and could take hours to wander through.

I just added a ton of Vintage-style scrapbook papers (12 sheets for $3), ephemera, vintage Bingo Cards, Shabby furniture, and other paperie curiosities. Great prices!

It's almost like a little mini Scrapbook store!
Be sure to visit if you are in the Phoenix area.

aLoHa...

Posting & creation by Jennifer Cuthbertson

Today I've got a fun card to share with you that I made from the Hawaiian Vintage set from Stampin' D'Amour! When you look at the set, there are a lot of images that lean toward vintage (which is brilliant and one of the things I love about SDA) but there are a lot of iconic Hawaiian-themed images that can be used in a number of different ways!

I selected the hibiscus image from the set and stamped a panel of white card stock with the flower in three colors. I added a sentiment from the set and finished the card with some aqua glitter and some cute, card stock flip flops.

Can you tell I'm dreaming of Hawaii?

Supplies: Stamps - Hawaiian Vintage (SDA), Card Stock - Real Red (SU!), Select White (PTI), Distressing Tool (Zutter), Ink - Real Red, Cameo Coral, YoYo Yellow, Basic Black (SU!), Glitter (Crayola), Flip Flops (my stash)
